Workshop on Multi Religious Practices for Young Student Bhikkus (Monks)

One-Day Introductory Workshop on Multi Religious Practices for Young Buddhist Monks, jointly conducted by Buddhist & Pali University of Sri Lanka and Zam Zam Foundation was held on 17th October 2023 at the Auditorium in Zam Zam Foundation premises in Colombo.

Ven. Prof. Pallekande Rathanasara Thero, Rev. Anura Perera, Rev. ShivaShree Darshaka Sharma Kurukkal and Ash-sheikh. Amhar Hakamdeen participated as resource persons in this workshop.

Ven. Dr. Ethkandure Sumanasara Thero and Ven. Dr. Kandegama Deepawansalankara Thero from Sri Lanka Buddhist & Pali University facilitated the session.

50 student Bikkhus from Buddhist & Pali University of Sri Lanka, specializing in Pali, English & Sinhala languages; together with Ven. Dr. Padiyathalawe Amarawansa Thero and Mr. M.H.P.K. Gunasena attended the programme.

Dr. Swarnananda Gamage, in his remarks, spoke about the positive impact the session has had on the young monks and the need to further collaboration between the University and Zam Zam Foundation in the upcoming academic year with similar interventions.

We hope that this workshop will help to build a better Sri Lanka by creating multicultural understanding among young religious leaders.
